Clear Base Cleaning (“Clear Base”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides post-construction, commercial, and move-in/move-out cleaning services in Calgary, Alberta. We are committed to protecting the personal information you trust us with.

1. What information do we collect?
In Short: the contact and job details you give us, plus standard technical information about your visit.
Information you provide to us
When you request a quote, email us, or call us, we collect what you choose to tell us. Through our quote form that is your first and last name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, and whatever you tell us about the job, such as the size of the space, its condition, and your timeline.
If you go ahead and book work with us, we also keep the service address, scheduling details, job notes, photographs taken to document the work, and billing records.
If you apply to work with us, we collect your resume and the information in your application.
Please make sure what you give us is accurate, and let us know if it changes.
Information collected automatically
Some information is recorded automatically when you visit the website. It does not identify you by name. It includes your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. We use it to keep the site secure and working, and to understand how people find and use it.
2. How do we use your information?
In Short: to quote your job, do the work, keep proper records, and understand how customers find us.
- Respond to quote requests and provide pricing.
- Schedule, carry out, and follow up on cleaning work.
- Communicate with you about a job in progress.
- Keep records of jobs, invoices, and correspondence.
- Meet our accounting, tax, insurance, and WCB obligations.
- Assess job applications.
- Understand how people find and use our website.
- Measure whether our advertising is working.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give your contact details to other cleaning companies, lead brokers, or mailing list vendors.
3. Will your information be shared with anyone?
In Short: only with the service providers we need to run the business, and where the law requires it.
- With service providers. Our web host, email provider, analytics and advertising platforms, and invoicing tools process information on our behalf, and only as far as they need to in order to provide their service. This currently includes Hostinger for web hosting, Google for website analytics and advertising measurement, and Meta for advertising measurement.
- With your consent. Where you have asked us to share something, such as sending a completion report to your property manager or general contractor.
- To carry out work you hired us for. Including with a site supervisor, building manager, or landlord involved in the job.
- Where legally required. In response to a court order, subpoena, or lawful request from a government authority, or where disclosure is otherwise required by law.
- To protect people or property. Where we believe disclosure is necessary to investigate suspected fraud, a threat to someone’s safety, or a breach of our agreements.
- In a business transfer. If the business is sold, merged, or reorganized, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.
4. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In Short: yes. Some make the site work, and some measure traffic and advertising.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including pixels, for two purposes. The first is making the site function, which covers page caching and protecting our forms against spam. The second is measurement, meaning how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether our advertising reaches the right people. We use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel for that.
Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set yours to block or delete them. The site will still work, though some things may be slower or less convenient. To opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly, visit youradchoices.ca.
5. How long do we keep your information?
In Short: only as long as we actually need it, or as long as the law requires.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this notice, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law, such as business records we are obliged to retain for tax, accounting, insurance, or employment reasons.
When we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep your information, we delete it or strip out the details that identify you. Where that is not immediately possible, because the information sits in a backup for instance, we store it securely and stop using it until deletion is possible.
6. How do we keep your information safe?
In Short: reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, though no system is perfectly secure.
Our website runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the work or run the business. We keep the website software up to date and maintain backups.
No method of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure. We cannot promise our safeguards will never be defeated, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us, and we will notify you if a breach affects your information in a way that creates a real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.
7. Do we collect information from minors?
In Short: no. Our services are for adults.
We do not direct our services or marketing to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have collected information from someone under 18, contact us and we will delete it.
8. What are your privacy rights?
In Short: you can see what we hold, correct it, withdraw consent, and complain if you are not satisfied.
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
- Ask us to stop contacting you for marketing purposes.
Email info@clearbasecleaning.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
9. Do we respond to Do-Not-Track signals?
In Short: not at this time.
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track setting. There is still no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, so we do not currently act on those signals. If a standard is adopted, we will update this notice.
10. Do we make updates to this notice?
In Short: yes, when we need to.
We may update this notice from time to time. The revised version takes effect as soon as it is posted, and the date at the top of this page will change. If we make a significant change to how we handle personal information, we will note it clearly here.
