Northwest Calgary is where most of the city’s new housing goes up, and that shapes the work we do out here. In a given week the crew is split between builder handovers on the northern edge, deep cleans in the established streets around Edgemont and Varsity, and end-of-lease turnovers near the university. Carrington, Evanston, Sage Hill, Nolan Hill, Kincora and Sherwood are still filling in, and every one of those homes needs a final clean between the last trade leaving and the buyer walking through. That work is not regular house cleaning. It is drywall dust pulled out of bulkheads, furnace runs and window tracks, labels and adhesive off every window and appliance, paint overspray off tile and glass, and the garage slab swept and washed down. We schedule to possession dates. A street with no signs up and no numbers on the houses is normal out there — send us the lot number and the lockbox code and the crew will find it. The University of Calgary, Foothills Medical Centre and the Alberta Children’s Hospital keep a steady rental churn going through Varsity, Brentwood, Dalhousie, University Heights, Charleswood, Montgomery and Bowness. Turnovers bunch up hard in the last two weeks of April and August, so book early in those months if you can. The northwest carries its commercial weight in the Crowfoot and Royal Oak centres, the Market Mall and Northland strips, and the professional space scattered along Sarcee Trail and Shaganappi. We run recurring janitorial for offices, clinics and retail on a month-to-month arrangement with 30 days written notice — no long-term contract — and we can work daytime, evenings or overnight so the cleaning never happens in front of your customers. Possession days in the new northwest communities cluster at month end, and so do lease endings. The practical result is that the last three business days of any month are the hardest to book anywhere in the quadrant, and late April and late August are harder again. If you already know your date, lock it in early. If you are stuck with short notice, call rather than email — we can usually move something.
